Recently we had some fun playing with style and texture for a photo shoot on the beautiful terrace of High Church Brisbane. Situated in the heart of the Valley we went a little crazy with jungle fever and created a tropical oasis overlooking the hustle and bustle of Brisbane.
The theme for the shoot was to express the use of organic vs. synthetic material. The rich, dark, natural tones of the foliage really caught the light reflecting from the modern shimmer of the sequin tablecloth. The humble candle lighting and festoon backdrop was used to naturally enhance the ambience of the setting. We absolutely love the tropical feel that the plant centerpieces create and tried hard not to disturb this by using neutral tones elsewhere. Black chargers topped with ivory plates, black napkins and clear glassware made up the simple settings. The clear tiffany chairs supplied by Styled Events were also purposefully used not to take away from the setting but to enhance the natural light reflections.
We really enjoyed working with living plants and foliage for this styled shoot, not only because it brought so much life to the scene, but also because they are such a sustainable way of styling. Unlike floral centerpieces, which seem to wilt and die in a couple of days, these plants have made their new home in our office and we get to see them everyday.
