What is better than a free flowing tower of our favourite French bubbly? Very little we say! Champagne towers went away for a little while. Some called them tacky, some called them try hard… But they’re back and elegant as ever. It can turn any ordinary celebration into a grand and luxurious affair. It’s the perfect touch to follow your wedding toast or a grand welcome as your guests enter the room.
We’ve just recently tapped into this great experience and added it to our wedding planning checklist. What is involved in a champagne tower you may wonder? Well there are the glasses for one. Coupe glasses to be precise. You know the round retro ones that Gatsby drinks out of. Two – a good and sturdy table. One slight lean and the champagne will only fill up half the glasses. Three – a drip tray is pretty important… unless you enjoy cleaning up the overflow. And last but not least… the champagne – obviously! The champagne tower is mostly for looks, so it’s not essential to be using $500 bottles of French champagne, but if you’ve got the budget, it never hurts to fancy it up with something a little lavish. Do however keep it to one kind, otherwise it will probably/definitely taste a bit… off.
