Green is becoming the new black in weddings today. We are seeing a trend of many brides opting to incorporate elements of nature into their wedding. From a foliage covered arbour to a green flower wall, they are many ways to incorporate this hot trend into your wedding.
What is great about this trend is it builds the basis for your décor and you can then choose to incorporate as little or as much colour as you like without going overboard. It also allows for the bride and grooms personality to show. Below we discuss the main areas and ways that this nature trend is portrayed in weddings today.
The ceremony will set the tone and vibe for the rest of your wedding, so it’s important to nail the décor.
The weather in South East Queensland is beautiful nearly all year round so a lot of ceremonies we see are held outdoors. This is already a great start as you can use the natural beauty to enhance your décor. If the ceremony space has a large tree, make us of this and perhaps hang some candles to create a romantic space to say I Do. It is important for an outdoor ceremony to compliment the natural setting that is already on display.
If the natural foliage surrounding the ceremony space is quite plain, an arbour can be used to enhance the space. An arbour is one of the easiest and in my opinion, most beautiful ways to add green to your wedding. Green foliage can be intertwined throughout the arbour to create a whimsical and romantic vibe or just added on the top with a pop of colour to make a statement. Paired with timber chairs and a simple aisle runner create a beautiful ceremony space.
Bridal accessories are another aspect where greenery can be integrated. A green floral bouquet can look stunning next to the brides white dress and adding a fern laden hairpiece creates a statement. Colour can easily be added to a bouquet, either a bright, vibrant pink or a soft peach.
As most receptions are held indoors, this new trend is a great way to bring the outdoors into your wedding reception. Using greenery to dress your tables is a great way to create an impact and still has the warmth and texture that you get from floral arrangements. This organic trend sees plain table settings with a statement centrepiece. Green plants along with white florals can be positioned in the centre of the table with candles in between to create an ambient and romantic atmosphere.
Floral walls have been making a big come back recently, however a beautiful and modern take on this trend is to replace blooms with greenery. Adding succulents, ferns and green flowers with a hint of colour can transform any space and is great for a feature behind a bridal table. Creating an abundant green wall will bring the outdoors in. Adding colour to the top of the wall is a great way to brighten up the space and adding up or down lighting can create a focal point for your bridal table.
Overall, we love this trend as it’s very romantic and whimsical! Below are some inspiration photos on how to make your wedding a greenery heaven.
