When you start the planning process for a wedding only a few months before "D" Day, you might; as a bride, slightly freak out at the constant checklists that are flying around your head... But for Aimee, this was her every day, and so when she finally had to make a decision on her wedding venue in January 2017, with a wedding date in April 2017, it was all systems go from that point onwards.
You see, Aimee & Adam had unfortunately several months before that had their wedding venue closed down for reasons outside of their control. Nestled in the Tweed Hinterland, their ideals for what their wedding would be like drastically changed... But, Aimee was focussed on finding the perfect alternative and whilst waiting on her 2nd best option venue to bypass some council approvals so that they could host their wedding in April, she realised there was a possibility that a 3rd venue option may be required... Let's face it, awaiting council approvals and planning a wedding for a specific date could prove rather tedious!!
So, when her self imposed "date of decision" sailed by, Aimee + Adam finally made the decision to confirm 'Babalou' at Kingscliff for their reception and a local spot by the beach for their intimate reception.
And so, in January 2017, the planning for an April 22, 2017 wedding began. I'm not lying when I tell couples you CAN plan a wedding in 6 weeks. It certainly makes the process efficient, and whilst we had three months in Aimee & Adam's case, it didn't make the process any less efficient. With an eye for what she wanted, and a goal of "getting married", Aimee had an attitude and plan for her wedding day that was true to hers and Adam's relationship, and their commitment to marriage.
With a 'rich in green' setting, we filled the reception venue with tropical leaves, set with woven rattan charger plates, natural linen and gold accented stationery. Complete with a thirty metre fairy lit window wall behind the bridal table, the setting was romantic and understated, elegant and fun - just the way I would describe Aimee and her dapper husband.
Guests indulged in dancing and espresso martinis and enjoyed quality time with loved ones from near and far - just the way every wedding should be...
So, whilst starting the wedding planning process with three months to spare may be daunting to some, if the dates work for you, then do it! It's totally possible, it isn't stressful, and it can be just as you envisioned, be there a year or 6 weeks to tick the planning list boxes. And the great thing - you won't second guess any of your decisions - you simply won't have time to!
Here is to Aimee & Adam, and the memories of April 22 we had the pleasure of sharing with them!
